Janitors in Houston walked out of work this week, fighting for contracts with six of the largest cleaning companies in Houston. The janitors work part time for $5.30 an hour and no health benifits. They said on indymedia that people should call the property managers' phone numbers and tell them to support the strikers. If you get the numbers, we'll call.
With more democrats being elected, perhaps the minimum wage will go up, but not soon enough for these folks. And even with a higher minimum wage, there will still be other issues that labor will always have to take action against. It never ends.
